Summary:
Responsible for labeling, bagging, stacking and palletizing finished product.
Works under the direction of the Head Bagging Operator.
Act at all times in such a manner as to comply with good manufacturing practices, food safety, and food quality including; Proper dress code, personal cleanliness, neatness and follow proper sanitation procedures.
Follow all safety rules and procedures.
Report all food safety, food quality, unsanitary, and unsafe conditions to the Head Bagger or Processing Shift Foreman immediately.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
On the job training available:
Must arrive on time ready and able to work.
Must wear and maintain all required PPE, replace as needed.
Understands the functions of the electrical switches in the bagging area and the safe operation of all machinery.
Advises Head Bagger, Shift Foreman, or maintenance of mechanical malfunctions.
Thoroughly understands and able to identify Lock out/ Tag out power isolation devices (only licensed electricians and apprentices may open electrical boxes or switches at anytime).
Trained and authorized to perform Lock out/ Tag out in accordance with OSHA standards.
Follows proper lifting and material handling procedures.
Is responsible for coding and marking bags accurately.
Loads robot with proper material.
Watches for and removes broken pallets and defective totes.
Keeps bagging area clean and clear at all times, including the area between Processing and Bagging that gets wet.
That area should be kept as dry as possible.
Properly seals bags and totes, and stacks properly on pallet.
Insures all broken bags are cut and emptied over sweeco screen to eliminate foreign material contamination.
Keeps waste of product and materials to a minimum.
Communicates with the Head Bagger as to any problems in the work area.
If the Head Bagger is not available, contact the Shift Foreman.
Is available to perform work in other areas, as needed, under other supervision when called upon by the Shift Foreman.
Becomes a certified, licensed forklift operator.
Is cross trained in the duties of the Forklift Operator as outlined in the Job Description for Bagging Forklift Operator.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
